  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; requiring schools to allocate 
  1.3             funds to certain uncommon schools; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 2002, section 124D.69, subdivision 3. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 124D.69, 
  1.7   subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 3.  [UNCOMMON SCHOOLS SERVING STUDENTS WITH CHEMICAL 
  1.9   DEPENDENCIES; ALLOCATION OF FUNDS.] In addition to the amounts 
  1.10  provided in section 124D.68, subdivision 9, a school 
  1.11  district may shall allocate funds from its undesignated general 
  1.12  fund to a private contracted alternative program, including a 
  1.13  private contracted alternative program that is tuition free and 
  1.14  provides a comprehensive secondary academic program for students 
  1.15  who have been assessed chemically dependent and who have 
  1.16  completed a licensed treatment program for chemical dependency.
