  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; authorizing state bonds; 
  1.3             appropriating money for design, architectural 
  1.4             drawings, and construction of a World War II veterans 
  1.5             memorial. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [WORLD WAR II VETERANS MEMORIAL; 
  1.8   APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.9      (a) $150,000 is appropriated from the general fund in 
  1.10  fiscal year 2000 for design and architectural drawings for a 
  1.11  World War II veterans memorial.  The design is subject to 
  1.12  approval by the capitol area architectural and planning board.  
  1.13  The commissioner of veterans affairs shall convene an advisory 
  1.14  group, including members of veterans organizations to review and 
  1.15  make recommendations about the design of the memorial.  
  1.16     (b) $....... is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.17  the commissioner of administration for construction of a World 
  1.18  War II veterans memorial on the capitol mall.  In creating the 
  1.19  memorial, the commissioner may accept money from nonstate 
  1.20  sources.  
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.22     To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond 
  1.23  proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance, on request of the 
  1.24  governor, shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount 
  1.25  up to $....... in the manner, upon the terms, and with the 
  2.1   effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 
  2.2   16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 
  2.3   4 to 7. 
  2.4      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.5      This act is effective the day following its final enactment.
