  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing a levy for 
  1.3             independent school district No. 2396, A.C.G.C., for 
  1.4             certain early retirement and health insurance costs. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [SEVERANCE LEVY; A.C.G.C.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [BENEFITS AUTHORIZED.] Independent school 
  1.8   district No. 2396, A.C.G.C., may offer an early retirement 
  1.9   incentive to licensed employees who have more than 30 years of 
  1.10  service, have terminated services in the employing district, and 
  1.11  have withdrawn from active teaching service.  The early 
  1.12  retirement incentive may include severance pay, other early 
  1.13  retirement incentives or notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.14  section 179A.20, subdivision 2a, employer-paid hospital, medical 
  1.15  or dental benefits. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [LEVY AMOUNT.] For taxes payable in 2004 through 
  1.17  taxes payable in 2012, independent school district No. 2396, 
  1.18  A.C.G.C., may annually levy an amount not to exceed $77,000.
