A bill for an act
relating to aids to local government; providing 2017 city aid penalty forgiveness
to the city of Flensburg; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 477A.017, subdivision 3, the city of
Flensburg shall receive its aid payment for calendar year 2017 under Minnesota Statutes,
section 477A.013, that was withheld under Minnesota Statutes, section 477A.017, subdivision
3, and its small city assistance payment for calendar year 2017 under Minnesota Statutes,
section 162.145, that was withheld under subdivision 3, paragraph (c), of that section,
provided that the state auditor certifies to the commissioner of revenue that it received the
audited financial statement from the city for calendar year 2016 by June 1, 2018.

new text begin (b) The commissioner of revenue shall make the payments under paragraph (a) to the
city no later than June 30, 2019. $38,400 in fiscal year 2019 is appropriated from the general
fund to the commissioner of revenue to make the payments under paragraph (a). This is a
onetime appropriation.
