A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements at
the Cowles Center in the city of Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; COWLES CENTER IMPROVEMENTS.

new text begin $3,340,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of Minneapolis for
improvements and betterments of a capital nature at the Cowles Center located at 528
Hennepin Avenue in the city of Minneapolis. This appropriation includes money for the
installation of elevators, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant accessibility
improvements, repairs and upgrades to bathroom facilities, and safety and security
improvements. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the project is completed
or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
