  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing continuing 
  1.3             levy authority for certain community education 
  1.4             activities jointly sponsored by a city and a school 
  1.5             district; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota 
  1.6             Statutes, chapter 124D. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [124D.215] [COOPERATIVE COMMUNITY EDUCATION 
  1.9   LEVY.] 
  1.10     A school district that cooperates with a city and jointly 
  1.11  operates recreational programs or senior citizen programs may 
  1.12  annually levy for those program costs.  The levy must not exceed 
  1.13  the amount that the district levied under section 124D.21 for 
  1.14  taxes payable in 2003. 
  1.15     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective for taxes 
  1.16  payable in 2004.
