relating to education; limiting dues check off for probationary teachers; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.06, subdivision 6.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.06, subdivision 6, is amended to
read:


Subd. 6.

Dues check off.

Public employees have the right to request and be
allowed dues check off for the exclusive representative. In the absence of an exclusive
representative, public employees have the right to request and be allowed dues check
off for the organization of their choice.new text begin During a teacher's probationary period under
section 122A.40, subdivision 5, or 122A.41, subdivision 2, any dues check off under this
subdivision must be limited to the amount assigned to the local exclusive representative.
