A bill for an act
relating to the state; appointing a poet laureate; appropriating gift or grant money
received; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 138.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.

Appointment.

The Gov' shall appoint a state poet laureate, new text end |

Who shall serve for a four-year term. new text end |
|

Because this appointment will always be great, new text end |

There's no need for the Senate to confirm. new text end |
|
new text begin
In appointing a poet for the public good, new text end |
|
new text begin
And to ensure there's no unjust omission, new text end |
|

The governor shall consider, if he would new text end |
|

Thoughts of the Humanities Commission. new text end |

Removal.

The poet will be free to write rhyming lines, new text end |

With removal only for cause, new text end |

Compensation.

Gifts and grants.
