  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; making supervised competitive 
  1.3             high school diving occurring in pools built before 
  1.4             January 1, 1987, subject to the swimming and diving 
  1.5             rules of the national federation of state high school 
  1.6             associations; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, 
  1.7             section 128C.05, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 128C.05, is 
  1.10  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 1a.  [SUPERVISED COMPETITIVE HIGH SCHOOL 
  1.12  DIVING.] Notwithstanding Minnesota Rules, part 4717.3750, any 
  1.13  pool built before January 1, 1987, that complies with the 
  1.14  swimming and diving rules of the national federation of state 
  1.15  high school associations may be used for supervised competitive 
  1.16  high school diving. 
  1.17     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective for the 
  1.18  2003-2004 school year and later.
