  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime; appropriating money for grants for 
  1.3             the substance abuse intervention neighborhood program. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; SUBSTANCE ABUSE INTERVENTION 
  1.6   NEIGHBORHOOD PROGRAM.] 
  1.7      $600,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of public safety to be used for substance abuse 
  1.9   grants.  The substance abuse intervention neighborhood program 
  1.10  in Hennepin county shall receive this funding through a grant 
  1.11  process developed and administered by the commissioner of public 
  1.12  safety.  This appropriation is available until June 30, 1999.
