  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money to 
  1.3             independent school district No. 94, Cloquet, for a 
  1.4             reading readiness program. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [READING READINESS PROGRAM.] 
  1.7      $65,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1999 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a grant to independent school district No. 94, 
  1.10  Cloquet, to develop a comprehensive system to promote reading 
  1.11  readiness and intellectual development for preschool children in 
  1.12  the school district and on the Fond du Lac reservation.  This 
  1.13  appropriation must be matched from local sources.
