  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private and 
  1.3             public sales of certain tax-forfeited lands that 
  1.4             border public water in St. Louis county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LANDS BORDERING 
  1.7   PUBLIC WATERS; ST. LOUIS COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, and the public sale provisions of 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, St. Louis county may sell by 
  1.11  private sale the tax-forfeited lands bordering public waters 
  1.12  that are described in paragraph (c), under the remaining 
  1.13  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.14     (b) The conveyances must be in a form approved by the 
  1.15  attorney general.  The attorney general may make necessary 
  1.16  changes to the legal descriptions to correct errors and ensure 
  1.17  accuracy. 
  1.18     (c) The lands to be sold are located in St. Louis county 
  1.19  and are described as: 
  1.20     (1) Government Lot 2, Section 26, Township 50 North, Range 
  1.21  17 West; 
  1.22     (2) Government Lot 2, Section 34, Township 50 North, Range 
  1.23  17 West; 
  1.24     (3) the West 60 feet of the East 360 feet of the North 800 
  1.25  feet of Government Lot 6, Section 32, Township 55 North, Range 
  2.1   12 West; and 
  2.2      (4) Plat of Long Lake Estates, 1st Addition, Lots 22 and 
  2.3   37, Section 26, Township 56 North, Range 16 West. 
  2.4      (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.5   management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  2.6   returned to private ownership. 
  2.7      Sec. 2.  [PUBLIC SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LANDS BORDERING 
  2.8   PUBLIC WATERS; ST. LOUIS COUNTY.] 
  2.9      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and

  2.12  in paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of Minnesota 
  2.13  Statutes, chapter 282.

  2.22     (2) Government Lots 1 and 2, Section 6, Township 56 North, 
  2.23  Range 14 West; 
  2.24     (3) the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter and the 
  2.25  North Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, 
  2.26  Section 10, Township 57 North, Range 18 West; 
  2.27     (4) Lots 6, 7, and 8, Plat of Erickson Beach, town of 
  2.28  Fayal, Section 27, Township 57 North, Range 17 West; 
  2.29     (5) Lots 20, 21, 22, and 23, Plat of Twin Lakes, Section 
  2.30  32, Township 60 North, Range 19 West; 
  2.31     (6) Lots 7, 8, and 9, Plat of Pike Point, Section 18, 
  2.32  Township 60 North, Range 21 West; 
  2.33     (7) the East Half of the Northeast Quarter and the East 
  2.34  Half of the Southeast Quarter, Section 12, Township 51 North, 
  2.35  Range 17 West; 
  2.36     (8) the East Half of the Northeast Quarter, Section 13, 
  3.1   Township 51 North, Range 17 West; 
  3.2      (9) Lot 9, Block 3, Kings Court Subdivision, Section 31, 
  3.3   Township 52 North, Range 13 West, except that part beginning at 
  3.4   the northwest corner; thence South 13 degrees 7 minutes 17 
  3.5   seconds East along the line common to Lots 8 and 9 200 feet; 
  3.6   thence North 7 degrees 52 minutes 43 seconds East 200 feet; 
  3.7   thence North 13 degrees 7 minutes 17 seconds West 205.58 feet to 
  3.8   the southerly line of Lady Nicole Lane and the northerly line of 
  3.9   Lot 9; thence South 63 degrees 3 minutes 24 seconds West along 
  3.10  said southerly line 31.16 feet to the point of curvature of a 
  3.11  tangential curve concave to the North with a radius of 340 feet 
  3.12  and a central angle of 28 degrees 54 minutes 39 seconds; thence 
  3.13  westerly along said curve and coinciding with said southerly 
  3.14  line 171.56 feet to the point of beginning; and 
  3.15     (10) that part of Lot 7, Johnson McKinnon Addition, town of 
  3.16  Canosia, lying East of a line beginning 40 feet West of the 
  3.17  northeast corner; thence South 164 11/100 feet; thence South 24 
  3.18  degrees 24 minutes East 277 feet, more or less, to the lakeshore.
  3.19     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  3.20  management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  3.21  returned to private ownership.
