  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to liquor; authorizing the city of Albert Lea 
  1.3             to issue additional on-sale licenses.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CITY OF ALBERT LEA; LIQUOR LICENSES.] 
  1.6      The city of Albert Lea may issue three on-sale intoxicating 
  1.7   liquor licenses in addition to the number authorized by law.  
  1.8   All provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 340A, not 
  1.9   inconsistent with this section, apply to the licenses authorized 
  1.10  under this section, except that the city may issue the licenses 
  1.11  only to establishments that derive 50 percent or more of their 
  1.12  gross income from food sales. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.14     Section 1 is effective upon approval by the Albert Lea city 
  1.15  council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021.
