A bill for an act
 relating to probate; modifying composition of augmented estate; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 524.2-203.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 524.2-203, is amended to read:


524.2-203 COMPOSITION OF THE AUGMENTED ESTATE.

Subject to section 524.2-208, the value of the augmented estate, to the extent
provided in sections 524.2-204, 524.2-205, 524.2-206, and 524.2-207, consists of the
sum of the values of all property, whether real or personal, movable or immovable,
tangible or intangible, wherever situateddeleted text begin ,deleted text end new text begin and whether or not bound by contracts previous
to the decedent's death, new text end that constitute the decedent's net probate estate, the decedent's
nonprobate transfers to others, the decedent's nonprobate transfers to the surviving spouse,
and the surviving spouse's property and nonprobate transfers to others.
