A bill for an act
relating to taxation; modifying allowed requests for revenue estimates from the
commissioner of revenue regarding legislative bills establishing, extending, or
restricting a tax or tax expenditure; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section
270C.11, subdivision 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 270C.11, subdivision 5, is amended to read:

Subd. 5.

Revenue estimates; legislative bills.

Upon reasonable notice from the chair

taxes or transportation finance new text end that a bill is scheduled for hearing, the commissioner shall
prepare an estimate of the effect on the state's tax revenues which would result from the
passage of a legislative bill establishing, extending, or restricting a new text begin tax or a new text end tax expenditure.
These revenue estimates shall contain the same information as provided in subdivision 4
for expenditure items contained in the tax expenditure budget, as appropriate.
