A bill for an act
relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for affordable housing,
residences for seniors, and a family shelter in Maplewood.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $5,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of human
services for a grant to the Tubman Family Alliance and Common Bond to design,
construct, furnish, and equip a facility to provide 90 units of affordable housing and
residences for seniors and improvements of a capital nature to the former Sisters of
St. Benedict monastery to serve as a 64-bed family shelter for victims of domestic
violence and provide office space, on Larpenteur Avenue, in the city of Maplewood.
This appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to
Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
