A bill for an act
relating to elections; determining funds for Help America Vote Act; appropriating
money.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin SECRETARY OF STATE; HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT.

(a) The following amounts are appropriated in fiscal year 2013 to the secretary of
state from the account established in Minnesota Statutes, section 5.30, pursuant to the
Help America Vote Act:

(1) $50,000 for Military and Overseas Empowerment Act compliance; and

(2) $120,000 for support for local election officials.

(b) $580,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2013 to the secretary of state from the
account established in Minnesota Statutes, section 5.30, pursuant to the Help America
Vote Act.

(c) The secretary of state must not make any reductions to the business services
division to offset any reductions to election services.
