A bill for an act
relating to health; providing an exemption from using a licensed well contractor;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 103I.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[103I.206] EXEMPTION FOR CERTAIN REPAIRS.

Notwithstanding any contrary provisions in this chapter, individuals living in a
community with no licensed or registered well contractor within 25 miles may use a
licensed plumber to work on repairs of submersible pumps and water pipes associated with
well water systems. No penalties shall be assessed licensed plumbers who do these repairs.
