  1.3             sentencing to service programs. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; COMMISSIONER OF CORRECTIONS; 
  1.6   SENTENCING TO SERVICE PROGRAMS.] 
  1.7      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of corrections to expand sentencing to service 
  1.9   programs to be available until June 30, 1999.
