A bill for an act
relating to the State Building Code; enacting Janet's Law; requiring radon testing
of all residential homes; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 326B.106,
by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 326B.106, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Radon testing. new text end

new text begin Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the code
must require that any residential home undergo radon testing whenever title is transferred
during closing.

new text begin This section is effective for home sales with closing dates
August 1, 2013, and after.
