  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; appropriating money for 
  1.3             preliminary engineering and environmental studies 
  1.4             relating to Scott county state-aid highway No. 27. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      The following amounts are appropriated from the general 
  1.8   fund to the commissioner of transportation for the biennium 
  1.9   ending June 30, 2001: 
  1.10     (1) $350,000 for a grant to the city of Savage or Scott 
  1.11  county, or both, for preliminary engineering and environmental 
  1.12  studies relating to the extension of Scott county state-aid 
  1.13  highway No. 27 in the vicinity of the Savage fen wetlands 
  1.14  complex; and 
  1.15     (2) $500,000 for a grant to the city of Savage or Scott 
  1.16  county, or both, for an environmental impact statement on the 
  1.17  project described in clause (1); however, this appropriation is 
  1.18  available only if the environmental studies performed under 
  1.19  clause (1) determine that the environmental impact statement 
  1.20  must be prepared.
