A bill for an act
 relating to health care; requiring medical assistance to cover doula services;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 256B.0625, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 256B.0625, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Medical assistance covers doula services provided by a
nationally certified doula, as defined in section 148.995, subdivision 2, of the mother's
choice. For purposes of this section, "doula services" has the meaning given in section
148.995, subdivision 4.

provided on or after that date.
