  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; appropriating money for a 
  1.3             feasibility study of a bridge to carry the Midtown 
  1.4             Greenway over the Hiawatha Avenue corridor. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; FEASIBILITY STUDY.] 
  1.7      $20,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of transportation for a study of the feasibility of 
  1.9   constructing a bridge over the Hiawatha Avenue, marked trunk 
  1.10  highway No. 55, transportation corridor in Minneapolis to carry 
  1.11  the Midtown Greenway over the corridor, as part of an extension 
  1.12  of the greenway to the Mississippi river.  This appropriation is 
  1.13  available until spent.  The commissioner may not spend this 
  1.14  appropriation until the commissioner has determined that at 
  1.15  least one-half of the total costs of the study will be paid from 
  1.16  nonstate sources. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective July 1, 2001.
