  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to motor vehicles; prescribing fee for 
  1.3             duplicate Minnesota identification card; modifying 
  1.4             procedures for deputy registrars to process temporary 
  1.5             disability parking permits; amending Minnesota 
  1.6             Statutes 1994, sections 168.33, by adding a 
  1.7             subdivision; and 171.06, subdivision 2. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 168.33, is 
  1.10  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 8.  [TEMPORARY DISABILITY PERMIT AND FEE.] The 
  1.12  registrar shall allow deputy registrars to implement and follow 
  1.13  procedures for processing applications and accepting and 
  1.14  remitting fee payments for 30-day temporary disability permits 
  1.15  issued under section 169.345, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), that 
  1.16  are identical or substantially similar to the procedures 
  1.17  required by rule for motor vehicle registration and titling 
  1.18  transactions. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 171.06, 
  1.20  subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.21     Subd. 2.  [FEES.] (a) The fees for a license and Minnesota 
  1.22  identification card are as follows: 
  1.23  Classified Driver License   C-$18.50 CC-$22.50 B-$29.50 A-$37.50
  1.24  Classified Under 21 D.L.    C-$18.50 CC-$22.50 B-$29.50 A-$17.50
  1.25  Instruction Permit                                        $ 9.50
  1.26  Duplicate Driver or Under 21 License or
  2.1    duplicate identification card                            $ 8.00
  2.2   Minnesota identification card other than duplicate,
  2.3    except as otherwise provided in section 171.07,
  2.4    subdivisions 3 and 3a                                    $12.50
  2.5      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.6      Sections 1 and 2 are effective July 1, 1995.
