  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the legislature; prohibiting former 
  1.3             legislators and certain other officials from lobbying 
  1.4             the legislature for one year after leaving office; 
  1.5             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.6             chapter 10A. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [10A.035] [FORMER LEGISLATOR; LOBBYIST 
  1.9   RESTRICTION.] 
  1.10     For the period of one calendar year after leaving office, a 
  1.11  member of the legislature, an unclassified employee of the 
  1.12  legislature, and a public official as defined in section 10A.01, 
  1.13  subdivision 18, paragraphs (b) and (d), may not act as a 
  1.14  lobbyist as defined in section 10A.01, subdivision 11, with 
  1.15  regard to attempting to influence legislative action.
