Creating a historic preservation grant program under the Minnesota historical
society; specifying grant eligibility, requiring eligible property owner
application to the state historic preservation office of the historical society
for approval of the amount of eligible rehabilitation costs and of
rehabilitation standards, requiring the office to issue certificates verifying
eligibility for owners to attach to grant applications; specifying allowable
rehabilitation costs and the maximum grant allowed; requiring the office to
develop grant application procedures and providing for administration of the
program, authorizing application fees; requiring the historical society to
annually determine the economic impact to the state from the rehabilitation of
eligible property and report to the legislature (mk)
