Consumer Privacy Protection Act ARTICLE 1 CONSUMER PRIVACY PROTECTIONRegulating
the use of credit cards for identification as a condition of check acceptance;
requiring consent for release by businesses of personal information on consumers
to third parties; requiring annual disclosures to consumers by businesses
relating to information collection and maintenance practices and policies and to
establish standards ensuring the security and confidentiality of personal
information; prohibiting businesses from requiring unnecessary information;
prohibiting requests for information under false or misleading pretenses from
individuals or third parties; restricting the creation and use of biometric
databases used primarily for commercial identification purposes; providing for
remedies and enforcement ARTICLE 2 INTERACTIVE SERVICES PROVIDERSRegulating the
release of personally identifiable information on consumers by interactive
services providers, defining interactive services provider and personally
identifiable information; specifying certain consent requirements; requiring
