Modifying certain elections provisions; clarifying the definition of +statewide
registration system; modifying voter registration application +information and
content requirements and providing for the validity of voter +registration forms
authorized by the national voter registration act and the federal +post card
application (FPCA) form, specifying certain duties of county auditors+ and
requiring the secretary of state to provide examples of the voter +registration
application to the auditors; clarifying the role of the secretary of +state in
controlling the statewide registration system; specifying a +maintenance
duration requirement for inactive registration records; prohibiting +the
inclusion of certain information on and providing for the +availability of
public information lists; requiring county auditor notice to the +secretary of
state of precinct boundary changes for voter records update purposes +and random
notice to election day registrants of registration; requiring and +providing for
state court administrator periodic reports of name changes to the +secretary of
state in lieu of district court administrator notices to county +auditors;
requiring and providing for verification of new voter registration +applications
and of certain registration record changes and for county auditor +notices of
deficient registrations and challenge removals; requiring +registration updates
for change of residence; prescribing or modifying certain absentee +voting
procedures, regulating application forms, envelopes and ballot and +voter
instructions and providing for permanent application by eligible +permanently
ill or disabled voters, modifying or clarifying certain duties of +election
judges; modifying certain requirements for the establishment of +combined
polling places; increasing the minimum width of polling place doors +for access
by the elderly and handicapped; updating certain polling place +equipment and
instruction poster and clarifying certain election judge training +requirements;
regulating mail balloting; clarifying and expanding certain polling +place
roster requirements; modifying certain precinct summary statement +preparation
and distribution requirements; providing for inspection of polling +place
rosters; specifying certain election judge certificate content +requirements;
providing for emergency voting cards for challenged voters and for +an election
results reporting system; clarifying certain spoiled ballot +procedures;
