Modifying certain provisions regulating the practice of traditional midwifery;
limiting the scope of practice; requiring license applicants to obtain a written
consultation agreement with a licensed physician or nurse certified as a nurse
midwife, requiring submission to the board of medical practice for licensing
purposes; requiring a license to practice; requiring periodic reports to the
board during the first year of licensure relating to services provided;
increasing the membership of the advisory council on licensed traditional
midwifery, requiring the inclusion of a licensed practicing obstetrician
gynecologist and a licensed certified nurse midwife (ra)
