Requiring and providing for the governor and the metropolitan sports facilities
commission to attempt to provide for community ownership of the Minnesota Twins
through transfer of ownership interest by binding agreement to a community
foundation or nonprofit corporation, requiring the governor and commission to
work with a professional baseball franchise and a community foundation to
develop a plan to offer shares of the franchise to the general public;
specifying certain requirements relating to the sale of stock in the team and
certain restrictions relating to moving the franchise outside the state for
transfer of ownership purposes, prohibiting the expenditure of state funds to
generate revenue or to provide operating support for or defray operating losses
of a professional baseball franchise(je)
