Requiring the commissioner of transportation (DOT) to develop a plan +for a
statewide system of ten ton county and county state aid highways to +support the
interregional corridor system, to provide greater efficiencies for +forestry,
agriculture and other industries in transporting products to market +and to
provide new and existing manufacturing industries with new growth opportunities;
requiring and providing for commissioner grants to +counties for the
construction, reconstruction and improvement of county and county+ state aid
highways and bridges to enable the transportation of heavier +vehicles,
requiring the commissioner to establish procedures in consultation +with the
association of Minnesota counties for counties to apply for the +grants;
appropriating money to the commissioner and authorizing the issuance +of state
bonds for the grants (mk)
