Requiring and providing for criminal history background checks on employees and
prospective employees of electronic security system companies by the
superintendent of the bureau of criminal apprehension (BCA); requiring periodic
background checks on employees after hiring; authorizing the use of background
checks conducted at the request of other electronic security system companies
under certain conditions; authorizing conditional hiring, exempting hiring
authorities from liability for failing to hire or for terminating employment
based on the results of a background check; providing for payment of background
check costs by the hiring authority or subject of the background check;
requiring the board of electricity to revoke licenses of electronic security
system companies owned, managed or represented by persons convicted of a crime,
exception; imposing a penalty on hiring authorities failing to request
background checks on employees or prospective employees (je)
