Relating to education; providing telecommunications/internet access equity aid
to school districts or charter schools; specifying costs eligible and ineligible
for submittal to the department of education for reimbursement and certain
application eligibility requirements, requiring discounts received on
telecommunications expenditures to be reflected in the costs submitted to the
department for aid; requiring the commissioner of education to develop criteria
for approving costs submitted; prescribing the aid formula; requiring school
districts to provide telecommunications/internet access services for nonpublic
schools upon request and prescribing an aid formula for the
services,
authorizing direct payment to the nonpublic school, specifying certain
limits; severability clause; requiring full payment of and appropriating money
to the department for the aid
