Relating to the state building code; requiring the department of administration
to adopt the most current edition of the national mechanical code published by
the American national standards institute and authorizing the department to
adopt the necessary amendments to the code for state conditions, requiring the
department to establish a permanent process to allow adoption of the newest
edition of the national consensus mechanical code with appropriate Minnesota
amendments within a certain amount of time of publication; requiring the board
of electricity and the department of health upon determination of necessity to
adopt the most current editions of the national electrical and plumbing codes
respectively published by ANSI, authorizing necessary amendments and requiring
the establishment of a permanent adoption process; clarifying certain licensing
requirements for pipe layers (je)
