Relating to game and fish; providing for lead tackle awareness and +education;
authorizing the commissioner of natural resources (DNR) to coordinate+ and
participate in efforts to promote national laws and education +programs relating
to lead tackle; requiring the commissioner and the director of the +office of
environmental assistance to provide public education relating to +concerns about
the tackle and to promote the availability of nonlead fishing tackle;
authorizing conservation officers to provide information to anglers +relating to
lead tackle and to provide samples of lead free sinkers and jigs; +requiring the
commissioners of health and the pollution control agency (PCA) to +report to the
legislature on the health hazards associated with the home +manufacture of lead
fishing tackle, authorizing recommendations to mitigate the concerns +associated
with the health hazards; authorizing the director of the OEA in +consultation
with the commissioner of natural resources to make grants to +conservation
organizations and angler associations to assist in reducing the use +of lead
fishing tackle (ra)
