E Providing medical assistance (MA) coverage for home based intensive early
intervention behavior therapy for children with autistic spectrum disorders,
requiring prior authorization for over a certain number of hours of services;
requiring the commissioner of human services to adopt rules establishing
provider qualifications and supervision and prior authorization requirements,
requiring consistency with scientifically tested guidelines established for the
treatment of autistic spectrum disorders; requiring the commissioner to develop
a pilot project to assist parents of children with autistic spectrum disorders
in using available services, requiring the project to provide certain case
management services, requiring the commissioner to seek federal waivers to
secure federal participation for provision of the case management services;
requiring the commissioner to evaluate the effectiveness of the project and to
report to the legislature by a certain date, sunset (mk, ja)
