purchase firearms for a self-determined
period of time, requiring firearms and
explosives background check information availability; providing a firearms
permit denial procedure; allowing chiefs of police and sheriffs to accept the
voluntary surrender of firearms and ammunition from persons on the voluntary
register; establishing a legal action for a petition for a red flag order for
protection from gun violence to prohibit respondents from possession firearms
for a period, specifying grounds for a red flag order; requiring courts to order
hearings upon petition receipt and allowing court relief; authorizing subsequent
extensions; establishing a legal action for emergency red flag order for
protection from gun violence; providing for transfer of firearms; specifying
offense of false information or harassment; prescribing penalty for order
violation; making conforming changes
