E Modifying certain provisions relating to the enforcement of + mandatory
automobile insurance; requiring and providing for the commissioner of+ public
safety to implement a periodic sampling program to verify insurance +coverage,
specifying certain sample requirements, requiring verification of the
information with the insurance companies and suspension of drivers +licenses of
motor vehicle owners falsely claiming coverage, making certain false +statements
or failing to respond to the request to furnish proof of insurance, +specifying
certain requirements for license and motor vehicle registration +reinstatement
relating to certificates of insurance and imposing a reinstatement +fee;
requiring attestation of insurance in applying for motor vehicle or +motorcycle
registration, reregistration or transfer of ownership; repealing +certain
provisions requiring the commissioner to revoke motor vehicle +registrations for
failure to provide proof of insurance and exempting drivers license +revocations
for failure to provide insurance from investigation by the +commissioner of
commerce and the requirement for insurance companies to notify the +commissioner
