2E Relating to family law

ARTICLE 1 - GENERAL PROVISIONS; CUSTODY AND
PARENTING TIME

Modifying the definition of what is the best interest of the
child for child custody and support of children on judgement purposes; repealing
certain provisions relating to evidence of false allegations of child abuse and
factors when joint custody is sought; modifying certain content requirements for
custodial rights notices; modifying the judgment interest rate on family court
actions; authorizing courts to provide compensatory parenting time; requiring
courts to provide remedies for repeated and intentional denial of parenting time
or noncompliance with an agreement; allowing penalties imposition; allowing
post-decree maintenance modifications and the parties to restore court
authority; modifying income information requirements; allowing the court to
adopt an alternative effective date for maintenance or support; allowing
allocation of income tax dependency exemptions in certain child support matters;
specifying certain requirements and factors the court must consider in
determining the allocation

ARTICLE 2 - UNIFORM DEPLOYED PARENTS CUSTODY AND
VISITATION ACT

"Uniform Deployed Parents Custody and Visitation Act";
directing courts in determining best interest of the child; defining terms;
specifying remedies for noncompliance, order jurisdiction, and certain
notifications

ARTICLE 3 - AGREEMENT ADDRESSING CUSTODIAL RESPONSIBILITY
DURING DEPLOYMENT

Allowing parents to enter agreements granting custodial
responsibility during deployment; specifying nature of authority created by
agreement to not be permanent; allowing agreement modification and power of
attorney; requiring power of attorney court filing

ARTICLE 4 - JUDICIAL
PROCEDURE FOR GRANTING CUSTODIAL RESPONSIBILITY
DURING DEPLOYMENT

Specifying
proceeding for custody order; providing an expedited evidentiary hearing;
allowing testimony by electronic means; specifying rules for effect of prior
order; allowing courts to grant caretaking authority to nonparents and limited
contract to nonparents; specifying custody order contents; specifying nature of
authority created by agreement to not be permanent; allowing temporary order for
child support and motions for amended findings and order

ARTICLE 5 - RETURN
FROM DEPLOYMENT

Specifying a procedure for terminating grant of custodial
responsibility established by agreement, a consent procedure, visitation, and
termination

ARTICLE 6 - MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS

Providing uniformity of
application and construction, relation to electronic signatures in global and
national commerce act, and a savings clause
