4E Requiring health plan companies to provide language interpreter services to
deaf and hard of hearing enrollees and for enrollees with limited English
proficiency (LEP) in order to facilitate covered health care services by a
provider, reimbursement exceptions; requiring the commissioner of health in
consultation with the commissioners of commerce, human services and employee
relations to convene a work group to study the provision of interpreter services
to patients in medical and dental care settings, specifying membership;
establishing a deadline for appointments to the work group; requiring the work
group to develop certain findings and recommendations, evaluate other models and
report to the legislature by a certain date; providing for expiration of the
work group (sunset provision)
