E Relating to crime; increasing the penalties for writing dishonored checks over
a certain amount and increasing the minimum value of stolen property and
property obtained with forged checks or through financial transaction card fraud
for the imposition of certain penalties for uniformity purposes; authorizing and
providing for prosecutors to establish pretrial diversion programs for writers
of dishonored checks, specifying certain program requirements and requiring
county attorneys establishing the programs to report certain information to the
bureau of criminal apprehension (BCA) for inclusion in the criminal justice
information system (CJIS) and prosecutors to biennially report to the supreme
court and the legislature on operation of the programs, exempting dishonored
check issuers successfully completing a pretrial diversion program from certain
