Requiring the commissioner of human services, in consultation with the
commissioners of employment and economic development (DEED), education, health
and the university of Minnesota autism spectrum program to establish a ten year
autism spectrum disorders (ASD) pilot program for children and young adults
diagnosed with ASD, defining certain terms and specifying certain program
component requirements and coverage specifications; creating an autism spectrum
disorder task force, specifying membership requirements and duties, requiring
the legislative coordinating commission (LCC) to provide administrative and
fiscal services to the task force and requiring the departments of education and
health to provide certain additional assistance; creating an autism spectrum
disorders surveillance system and registry in the department of health to
investigate the occurrence, frequency, cause, effect and prognosis of ASD,
requiring the adoption of certain rules and procedures for reporting disorders
by a health care professional; requiring certain reports to the legislature by a
certain date
