Authorizing the commissioner of natural resources to coordinate and +participate
in efforts to promote national laws and educational programs relating+ to lead
fishing tackle to promote uniform laws and create incentives for the +use of
nonlead tackle; requiring the commissioner and the director of the +office of
environmental assistance to provide public education relating to +concerns about
lead fishing and to promote the availability of nonlead fishing +tackle;
authorizing conservation officers to provide information to anglers +relating to
lead tackle and to provide samples of lead free sinkers and jigs and +the
commissioners of health and the pollution control agency (PCA) to +report to the
legislature with recommendations to mitigate health hazard concerns; authorizing
the director of the OEA in consultation with the DNR +commissioner to make
grants to conservation organizations and angler associations +to assist in
reducing the use of lead fishing tackle(mk)
