A bill for an act
relating to aeronautics; appropriating money for airport courtesy vehicle
maintenance and repairs.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SMALL AIRPORT COURTESY VEHICLES.

(a) $100,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of transportation for grants to airports for maintenance and repairs of airport courtesy vehicles
and shuttles. This is a onetime appropriation.

(b) An airport is eligible for a grant under this section if the airport is:

(1) located outside of a metropolitan county, as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section
473.121, subdivision 4; and

(2) classified as an intermediate airport or a landing strip under Minnesota Statutes,
section 360.305, subdivision 3.

(c) The commissioner must allocate grant awards in a manner that prioritizes small
airports and provides regional balance throughout the state.
