relating to public safety; appropriating money for a state program fraud tip line
public relations campaign.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN; STATE PROGRAM FRAUD TIP
LINE.

new text begin $....... is appropriated in fiscal year 2027 from the general fund to the commissioner of
public safety for a public awareness campaign to increase awareness of: (1) the Bureau of
Criminal Apprehension's state program fraud tip line; and (2) whistleblower procedures
and rights regarding the reporting of fraud against programs funded or administered by the
state. The commissioner may contract with a private entity for the public awareness
campaign. This is a onetime appropriation.
