A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Somali Museum of
Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SOMALI MUSEUM OF MINNESOTA.

new text begin $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the Somali Museum of Minnesota
to design, construct, furnish, and equip a new facility in the city of Minneapolis to preserve
Somali cultural heritage, display Somali relics and artifacts, and offer educational programs.
This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is completed or abandoned,
subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
