BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TRUMPETER SWAN STUDY; REPORT; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2027 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
natural resources to study trumpeter swans in the state, including assessing the state's
population and determining the feasibility of a trumpeter swan hunting season. By January
l5, 2027, the commissioner must submit the results of the study and any policy
recommendations to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees
with jurisdiction over environment and natural resources policy and finance. This is a
onetime appropriation.
