A bill for an act
relating to civil marriages; clarifying that legislators may perform civil marriages;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 517.04.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 517.04, is amended to read:

new text begin (3)new text end a former court commissioner who is employed by the court system or is acting
pursuant to an order of the chief judge of the commissioner's judicial districtdeleted text begin ,deleted text end new text begin ;

new text begin (4)new text end the residential school superintendent of the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf

(6) a current member of the senate or the house of representatives; or

Hearings under section 14.48.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.
