A bill for an act
relating to worker safety; appropriating money for initiatives to promote mental
health in the construction industry.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY MENTAL HEALTH
INITIATIVES.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of labor and industry for initiatives to promote mental
health in the construction industry and prevent suicide. Money may be used for outreach,
education, development of resources related to stigma reduction and worksite strategies,
and grants to industry groups for related activities. These are onetime appropriations and
are available until June 30, 2027.
