 relating to economic development; appropriating money to Parents in Community
Action.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; PARENTS IN COMMUNITY ACTION.

new text begin $924,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Parents in Community Action,
Inc. (PICA) to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations necessary for expanding child
care services to infants. Money may be used to support the acquisition and installation of
fire sprinkler systems at PICA's child care facilities. This is a onetime appropriation.
